If You Were At The Old Richwood skating rink in the 60's or Craigsville Roller Arena, you probably knew Donald E. Forga Sr., the best roller skater of all time in Nicholas County WV. He was a graduate of Richwood High School in 1962. Donald was an avid deer hunter and we had some really good deer hunting experiences, especially Cranberry Backcountry on Thanksgiving day, November 23, 1967. Donald passed away on April 24, 2020, he was 77. Born in Richwood West Virginia, son of the late Mamie Edith (Hart) Forga and John Alden Forga. He was raised in Richwood and has been a Nicholas County resident for the past 77 years.
Donald Eugene Forga Sr. was preceded in death by his first wife Sharon Kay Frazee of Fenwick, died in the early morning hours of February 24, 2016, at the age of 68, at the Bowers Hospice House in Beckley, marriage end in divorce. Sharon and Donald is survived by three sons: John Forga (Carol) of Nettie, Don Forga (Mindy) of Morgantown, & Michael Forga of Fenwick. Donald second wife Shirley Jean Forga, 75, of Craigsville, WV, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, October 17, 2018, at the Peyton Hospice House, in Lewisburg, WV, after a long illness.
Shirley was born on July 23, 1943, in Cowen, WV, Donald and Shirley have one child together Robert Gene Forga, 25, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, Jan. 20, 2007, at Charleston Area Medical Center, General Hospital, from injuries received from an automobile accident.
Donald Eugene Forga Sr. 77 is survived by 3 sons, John Allen Forga, Nettie, WV, Donald Eugene Forga, Jr., Morgantown, WV, and Michael Wayne Forga, Morgantown, WV; 2 grandsons, Ruben Gene Forga and Malachi James Forga; granddaughter, Marissa Jolea Forga, Craigsville, WV; one brother, Alden Doug Mullens.
